my lay results for week to 17 feb 2007 and any selects for 18 feb

Hi, not a bad week made 6 points profit. Had 22 picks, 20 lost - just 2 winners 91% strike rate, but 2 i didn't lay because they were over 10/1 which is my liability cut off tho as you can see they lost anyway. Months total to date is + 18 points, which is fine by me.

Why do Gentlemen prefer blondes?

A blind man enters a Ladies Bar by mistake. He finds his way

to a bar stool and orders a drink. After sitting there for awhile,

he yells to the bartender, "Hey, you want to hear a blonde joke?"

The bar immediately falls absolutely quiet. In a very deep, husky

voice, the woman next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, sir,

I think it is just fair - giving that you are blind - that you
should

know five things:

1 - The bartender is a blonde girl.

2 - The bouncer is a blonde girl.

3 - I'm a 6 feet tall, 220 lb. blonde woman with a black belt in
karate.

4 - The woman sitting next to me is a blonde professional weight
lifter.

5 -
The lady to your right is a blonde and is a professional wrestler.

Now think about it seriously, mister. Do you still wanna tell that
joke?

The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head, and declares,
"Nah,

not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times."

my lay results for week to Feb 10 2007 and selects for 11 feb 2007

100% success and 11 points profit this week. Though has been a horrible week weatherwise it was a good week for my lays, as results show with 16 horses selected, 11 losers, 3 no bets (i don't bet over 11 on the exchange, tho they lost) and 2 at  abandoned meetings.
in addition i also took extra profit on some of the placings, most notably Humourous at 20/1
so, Profit for the month to date is now 12 points from 17  horses, with just one  winning  its race.

You know you're Growing Older when.......

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two
drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says,

"I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it's today.." The
bartender says, "Well, since it's your birthday, I'll buy you a drink.
In fact, this one is on me."

As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, "I would
like to buy you a drink, too."

The old woman says, "Thank you. Bartender, I want a Scotch with two
drops
of
water." "Coming up," says the bartender.

As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, "I would like to
buy you one, too."

The old woman says, "Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with
two drops of water."

"Coming right up," the bartender says.

As he gives her the drink, he says, "Ma'am, I'm dying of curiosity. Why
the Scotch with only two drops of water?"

The old woman replies,

"Sonny, when you're my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor.
Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue."

results of my lay system 14 jan to 20 jan

hi,
lack of time often means not able to post my lay system selections every day at present so have decided that will at least give running weekly result of total points lost or won, and if i have any selections for the day, i will post them too
jan wk 1     10 qualifying selections  -1.5 points.
jan wk 2     12 qualifying selection  +7.5 points
jan wk 3     11 qualifyng selections  +5.0 points

i have one selection today,
wolverhampton 4.20 Under fire at 7.6 just now on betfair.
briefly,
i look mainly at 1st or second favourites, that i don't think have what it takes to win.
and i dont lay at over 10 on the exchange.
good luck
rickyde

result 17 jan, selections 18 jan

3 out of 4 not too bad, but still had me lose 3 points on the day with having 1 no bet and George the second winning at 5's, wasn't my strongest choice of the day,  and  i  considered leaving  him out,  but hey.
today, poor day for my system, have one weak selection in
ludlow 3:40 Bathwick Rox, Timmy Murphy on board has a good strike rate and the current form of the trainer  also gives call for concern.
so will play by ear and watch in the market, if racing still goes ahead on a lousy day like today.
good luck

I'm back, good or bad, with revised (original) lay system

Hi all,
First may i wish you all the very best for 2007, and hope that i can contribute to our collective knowledge and profitting from the exchanges.
Good to see that there are some new postings.
and a new celeb big brother series is underway, too.
who is your winner? my daughter is going for Jermaine?? Any other
You may remember from my last post, back in early December, i had completed a trial of a hoped for Maria lookalike/copy cat lay system which used multiple daily selections looking to emulate Maria's fantastic accumulation in one year turning £3000 into £100,000.
Well, after  3 months i did  not feel  the returns were equal to the time taken to select the losers, and while i acheived reasonable growth, this as not as good as i hoped.
so, i took a sabbatical, regrouped and concentrated on my 'nice little earner' lays.
so i shall be starting to relist these lays here, so might as well start today.
Southwell 1:00 Keon
Folkestone 3:20 Present m'lord

good luck
rickyde

summary of system end of november

apologies all for no postings for a week. been laid low with a bout of the flu, and felt like s***, been reviewing the system in light of end of month results which showed me getting nowhere following a lot of work analysing the evidence
banks at end november were
£500 bank £928, gain on month 11.94%
£3000 bank £5343, gain on month 11.52%
way below my target of 35%, not good enough, time to regroup, especially with making 310 selections. strike rate was okay at 88.2%, but a few high priced winners saw me without the gains i wanted.
So...................... where do i go from here?
Well, i am using more than one laying formula.
so i will change this blog to them.
but, i may not post on a daily basis as in past.
watch this space.
glad to see a few more putting forward their systems, keep up the good work
good luck
rickyde

my lay results 23 November and selections for 24 november 2006

Not such a bad day, even so could have done without Kashnito d'Homme and Missie Bailey, two obvious steamers probably laid out for their races looking at the prices they came in from. I much prefer them to drift out, just before the off for obvious reasons.
That is the diference between putting these advices up before racing and watching live and trading off the hoof
But a reasonable return on the day of 2.94% in £26.39 and £155.74 - that's okay I reckon
Banks move onto £920.42 and £5298.11

my lay results 21 November and selections for 22 november 2006

A winner in the first race, Andrea Gale, and another in the last race, Polar Force (at 10/1 a horror and the highest I have or am likely to have) resulted in a small loss for the day on the system, though in fact I was 'saved' the loss on Polar Force by my bet not being taken up at 10.8, so I was happy to take a £35 profit on the day giving a return (for me) on the day of 3.91% vs a loss of 19p as recorded by the system.
The £3000 bank only suffered a loss of £1.07 to reach £5142.37, whereas the £500 bank remains at £894.03.

wolverhampton    16:20    val de maal    8/1    6th    12/1    no bet

I have no selections at all for today, with some tight racing.
So I shall work on adjusting the stakes to see what the picture would be using just 1% for bets up to 7.4 and 0.6% for the remainder up to 11, because there just don’t seem to be many at the less that 3.4 selection.
Personally, I feel that the higher stake will compensate for the higher liabilty with the strike rate.
And this is after all what an exercise like this is for, to make a workable proposal.
It may be time to start putting this to a forum for feedback?
Any suggestions?
Good luck

my lay results 19 November and selections for 20 november 2006

Well, saved by the Irish (again), Blueberry Boy will have made connections a nice few bob, a 16/1 shot, so was a definite no bet for me, could have got at least 34 on Betfair at one stage!!! As for Woodhouse, quite a surprise, but I am glad that I put into the market earlier in the day and was not taken prior to the off. Was not following at all yesterday as too many tidying up jobs, clearing leaves with the horse manure hoover, which does make easier work out of a tedious job, but then a storm last night brought the next lot of leaves into the yard! The leaves are staying on the trees much later this year, I've noticed.
14 selected, 2 winners (no bet) and another 4 no bets left 8 qualifiying losers which gave the banks a boost
£500 bank gained £33.86 to stand at £882.88

my lay results 18 November and selections for 19 november 2006

Well, yet another winning day spoiled by the final race, when Night Prospector won. There was obviously a gamble on Potts of Magic who came in sharply from 10/1 to 6/1,
If I had been following live it is likely that I would not have laid him, but rather have backed him for a place at least. But I wasn't, so there you are
The result was a small loss on the day of
£500 bank - £7.76

my lay results 17 November and selections for 18 november 2006

It will be sad not to see one of the greatest horses any more, the superb Desert Orchid, a right character of a horse.
However, life moves on and I am sure another great horse will appear.
We all have our favourites, mine are becoming the/my regular losers!
Yesterday, did not give me enough qualifying selections to save me from a loss. I was fooled into a false sense of security, typical of horse racing, when Cape Presto won at 9/1, which resulted in a loss of £19.85 to the £500 bank, and £114.47 to the £3000 bank.
These minor setbacks have to be taken on the chin, and looked at fron the overall strategy which is to acheive a high annual compound growth not daily profit, though both would be nice.

my lay results 16 November and selections for 17 november 2006

A profit is a profit. All went well till Avitta in the 2.50, not where I expected the challenge to come from, but a 6/1 winner caused me to only make a small return yesterday. So despite having 9 out of 10 losing, and the 1 no bet I only achieved a small profit on the day of
£5.05 on the £500 bank, or £29.11 to the £3000 bank.
But a profit is a profit.

    wolverhampton    18:20    georges pass    8/1    9th    33/1    no bet
Moving onto today, not many selections today, saving themselves for tomorrow no doubt.
Most come from Kelso.
And with the stakes at
£500 bank £8.76; £5.26 and £3.50
£3000 bank £50.42; £30.25 and £20.17
Here are the selections

17-Nov    exeter    12:35    captain flinders    7/1
    kelso    14:00    culcabock    8/1
    kelso    14:35    green label    10/1
    kelso    14:35    no picnic    8/1
    kelso    15:10    tobe sure    13/2
    kelso    15:10    scotmail    5/1
    wolverhampton    17:50    cape presto    8/1
I am making progress with adjusting the stakes to allow for now 0.4% stakes, and end Sept has showed an impressive rise in the percentage returns.
£500 bank end of month value £748.13 an increase of  £91.24, and a return of 49.6% vs 31.39%
£3000 bank end of month value £4211.81, and increase of £531.35. and a return of 40.36% vs 22.66%
Pending what happens for October I suspect that 'my' system may prove more profitable using a two tier staking plan as opposed to a 3 tier staking as with the 'maria system' ?
Would appreciate your feedback
Good luck
