PROSPECTS (as they seemed over-night): Short-list of (a very cautious) 1 only: ATLANTIC COAST/WON (Row 2). My stats are quite encouraging of the win, not that they guarantee anything. I did not put it in "Row 1" because the race is a Handicap and 3x'odd-one-out' tipsters Oppose it.
Today's cards threw up a goodly number of what I finally settled on as peripheral bets, many having come close to being included in my main rows before niggling negatives kept them out of, even, my "Place Only I" row. I positioned most of these in "Place Only II" where, all being well, profit enough should result, as things look to me, from what aggregates to a higher than usual level of investment for a single day's racing on my part. (Greed could be one's undoing, today, if some of my niggling negatives get born out and more runners than expected fail to make the winners' enclosures.) Actually, all but one did all right.
I am hopeful of a good return today on what I shall be risking. A bad day could set me back significantly.
