30 November 2006 - WEDNESDAY: It's definitely NOT grim up north today

I scored two out of two back-to-win successes today. My friend Negus De Beaumont came home in front for me again at Ayr. He was sent off at 5/4 but I grabbed some of the 2/1 being offered on Betfair during the morning. 4 points profit to put in the account.

Opportunities to lay horses were thin on the ground. I am a stalwart believer that you should never expect a horse to achieve something he has never achieved before. This dictum very often forms the basis for my lay selections. Today, most of the favourites were experiencing 'deja vu' so I decided to exercise caution and keep my money in my pocket.
