"I'm Betting On The Redd!" - SUNDAY: Reflections on a frustrating week

"I'm Betting On The Redd!"

6 November 2006 - SUNDAY: Reflections on a frustrating week

Opportunities were thin on the ground today, and I decided against backing any horses. I did however, advise against one horse - Tora Bora in the novice chase at Market Rasen. Stepping up in class, and attempting fences for only the second time, I thought it was worth laying a bet to minimum stakes, especially as his two nearest competitors in the market had a lot more experience at this level. Unfortunately for me he justified favouritism, but at 13/8 it did little damage to the account.

So, looking back over the past week, I have made a loss of around 4 or 5 points. My lay bets have definitely been below par, and the back-to-win selections also. It's frustrating when a whole week amounts to little or no profit (edit-what you mean, Max, is a loss!). This happens my friends, and we keep on keeping on.

Profits over past seven days -- Lay Bets: 5.5pts loss, Back-to-Win Selections: 1 point
