"I'm Betting On The Redd!"

20 September 2007 - Hamish McGonagall | Ayr 220

I didn't have the strength of conviction to lay anything yesterday, although the one horse I did mention Colwyn Bay did produce a below par race as I suspected he may, and was well beaten at 11/8F - hindsight would make us all millionnaires!!

This afternoon however, I shall be putting my money where my mouth is (as long as I can get the price I want of course!) and going against Hamish McGonagall in the 2:20 race at Ayr. Sure, he did produce a better effort last time out compared to his debut when he finished several lengths off the winner. He will be entitled to improve again today. But he is back on slightly softer going today, and I think he prefers to hear the rattle of his own hoofs (or is it hooves?). Certainly, if you can lay bets below even money I think you have a value lay bet.
