A successful return to the floor yesterday as we got morning favourite Pearl Trader beaten. Remaining in the north of the country I am looking to oppose a horse at Thirsk this afternoon. Generous Gem contests the class 3 handicap over a mile and a half. The filly has won her last three races and will hopefully be over-bet, but steps up in class today. Her penalty is alleviated to a degree with the booking of a claiming jockey, but she still carries more weight than last time out. I think the combination of the higher class, extra weight, and the inexperienced jockey, could be in our favour if we can lay below 2/1
