Place LayingI have have received a number of comments about my system in recent weeks. The majority of the comments are centred around the fact that the odds of my selections are on the high side.
In my defence, I would ask you to look at my results:
The strike rate is approaching 95%.
None of my selections over 10/1 have won.
The vast majority of my selections over 10/1 have not even made the frame.
In addition, I cannot control the SPs and a large number of my selections have started at odds which are considerably above the forecast odds quoted in the morning papers.
However, a criticism is a criticism and I accept it.
I therefore intend to address the issue by looking into the possibility of place laying some of my selections. In this way, they can be layed at more reasonable odds.
This may take a little time since I need to analyse the past results to determine the odds above which it is safe to place lay and below which it is unsafe.

The week so far.....Hi folks
It's early Thursday morning and the results so far this week are amazing!
I made some minor changes to the system on Monday and they certainly have had their affect.
Here's the results for the week so far:
Selections : 49 Withdrawn : 5 Bets Won : 42 Bets lost : 2 (SP 5/1 & 12/1) Profit : + 30.95pts (That's over 10 pts per day).
And Thursday's racing hasn't even started yet!!

The system for all tastesThis system is 'general purpose'. It's what our American cousins call Acme, I believe. It selects horses, not horses in specific races. As such, it doesn't take into account the odds that a particular selection is likely to start at. Therefore, it is just as likely to select an odds-on horse as it is a 100/1 shot. There is a bias towards the longer-priced animals, however. This is not surprising since the system selects losing horses!
There are those who prefer only to lay horses whose odds are less than a certain value e.g. less than 6/1. This system caters for such layers since there are ample selections in this price-range. Simply ignore those selections which are outside your preferred betting range.
There are those who prefer only to lay horses whose odds are mid-priced e.g. between 10/1 and 20/1. This system caters for such layers since there are ample selections in this price-range. Simply ignore those selections which are outside your preferred betting range.
There are those who prefer only to lay horses whose odds are high (and this includes me) e.g. more than 20/1. This system caters for such layers since there are ample selections in this price-range. Simply ignore those selections which are outside your preferred betting range.

Delayed start of serviceSome good news for you all.
Unfortunately BT have a major issue in the area in which I live and for the past 5 weeks I have been forced to use a rather slow dial up line instead of my usual broadband connection. To guarantee posting our selections on a daily basis in good time for the start of racing, a broadband service is essential. Yesterday, for example, I was unable to post my selections until 1 PM due to the fact that I couldn't connect to the internet before then.
As a result, we have decided to delay the implementation of the subscription service until such time as a broadband service is secured.
In the meantime, enjoy our free tips.
By the way, if you wish to comment on the content of any of my postings, please feel free. I always respond.

Unpredicability? The system, in the past, has won between 1 and 2 points per day. In an average month, it wins between 50 - 60 pts.
In the first week that I posted the tips on this wesite, it won what it usually does in a typical month i.e 4 times its normal number of points. The past week's losses were therefore to be expected given how much it won the previous week. Even so, the sytem is still winning at a rate which is above its normal target, so worry not.
The reasons for these ups and downs is the time of year and the weather.
At this time of year, three things are happening:
Trainers are trying to get one last race (at least) out of their charges before the end of the season. As a result, there are too few races and too many horses. Therefore, the availability of races is dictating whether a horse runs and in which race, not the horse's fitness and race suitability (as is normally the case). As a result, a typical race contains more horses than usual, a different mix than usual and a different level of fitness than usual. The result is more unpredictability than ususal and races become more of a lottery than a race. This presents the punter with more challenges than usual. Bigger fields mean bigger prices and bigger prices mean that larger losses than usual can be incurred if one happens to be a layer.
In addition, we are in the midst of a changeover period from flat to NH, but the changeover is, as yet, incomplete. We therefore have a mix of races which only occurs twice a year (at racing code changeover).
To make matters worse, we have the weather to contend with. We have had an unseasonably dry and hot period and ground conditions are not normal for this time of year. Horses are therefore running on atypical ground, and given that their performance is, to some extent, ground-related, their performance can also atypical. As a result, horses which would be expected to win, arn't and horses that are not expected to win, are.
To make matters even worse we have had a period where an unusually high number of horses have been withdrawn. This gives the remaining horses in the race a greater chance of winning and leads to even greater unpredictability.
The total result is complete and utter chaos and unpredictable results giving rise to large, unpredicable swings in punters fortunes. This is stretching even my psychic powers a tad.
Strangely enough, although my selections are created by four individual systems, the conditions, identified above, are only affecting one system in particular. The other three remain completely unaffected.
